About the Recruitment
Professor Bin Xu at Emory University (www.binxu.net) is recruiting research assistants for his project on “memorialization of the COVID deaths.” The research involves searching the web and news media for cases of memorialization of COVID-19 deaths in one or more of the following countries: Peru, Mexico, India, Russia, Italy, France, and Germany.
Expected Duties
- Manage and Collect Materials include news reports, web pages, and visual images.
- The assistant also needs to proofread Al translations of the materials. Instructions will be given.
- Each assistant’s work is estimated to be 10-30 hours, depending on the quantity of materials.
- Pay rates are locally competitive
- The work will start immediately.
Qualifications:
- Graduate students or advanced undergraduate students from one of the above countries and/or with a native or close-to-native linguistic ability of the language spoken in the country;
- Majored in social sciences or humanities;
- In-depth knowledge about the country’s social and political context;
- A high level of proficiency in English.
