Event Information

Viksit Bharat @2047 calls for problem-solving at a national scale. This Challenge turns the energy and spirit of service of India's youth towards problems local communities, and citizens face. The Seva First Innovation Challenge is a national student ideation challenge launched by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, it aims to harness the energy and spirit of service among India’s youth to solve local community and national problems aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

Key Highlights

Thematic Focus: Entries must address one of Five National Themes:

  • Swachh & Sustainable Bharat (Water, waste/circular economy, energy efficiency, pollution/environment/climate)
  • Samriddh Annadata, Samriddh Bharat (Agriculture, rural innovation, livelihoods, MSMEs & artisans)
  • Swasth & Samavesh Bharat (Health & well-being, assistive technology, inclusion)
  • Shikshit & Kaushal Bharat (Education, skilling, sports)
  • Surakshit Bharat (Manufacturing, mobility & infrastructure, safety, digital public infrastructure)

Innovation Tracks: Participants can compete in two distinct tracks:

  • Track A: Product or Technology – Devices, prototypes, materials, software systems, or engineering solutions.
  • Track B: Business Model or Governance – New delivery models, service designs, financing mechanisms, or community institution/governance innovations.

Participation Levels: Divided into three learning tiers:

  • Level 1 (Junior): School students (Classes VI to XII) and introductory-level learners.
  • Level 2 (Technical): Students of ITIs and Polytechnics.
  • Level 3 (Open): Undergraduate students, postgraduates, and research scholars.

Timeline:

  • Submission Window: September 25 – October 24, 2026
  • State Screening (by NITs): October 25, 2026 onwards
  • Exhibition, Showcase & Finale: November 30 – December 15, 2026

Prizes & Support:

Cash prizes per category: ₹10 Lakh (First), ₹5 Lakh (Second), and ₹3 Lakh (Third).

Selected innovators receive expert mentorship, laboratory and fabrication access, incubation/pilot support, and industry/government pathways.
