The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has released a notification to fill the posts of Assistant Social Welfare Officer and Assistant Tribal Welfare Officer.

• Assistant Social Welfare Officer: 11
• Assistant Tribal Welfare Officer: 6

Qualification: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification.

Salary: Rs. 48,440 - Rs. 1,37,220 per month.

Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 44 years of age as of July 1, 2026. A 5-year age relaxation applies to SC, ST, BC, and EWS candidates. Age relaxation is also available for persons with disabilities (10 years), ex-servicemen, NCC instructors, and eligible government employees, in accordance with the rules.

Selection Process:

Candidates will be selected through a Computer-Based Written Test (CBRT). Candidates who qualify in the written test will undergo a Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) as specified in the notification. Final selection will be based on merit in the written test, qualifications, certificate verification, medical fitness, and other criteria.

Examination Pattern: The Computer-Based Written Test comprises Papers 1, 2, and 3. It covers General Studies & Mental Ability (150 marks) and two subject-specific papers (150 marks each), totaling 450 marks. There is a negative marking of one-third of the marks allotted to a question for every incorrect answer.

Application Fee: Processing fee of Rs.250 and examination fee of Rs.120. SC, ST, BC, differently-abled, ex-servicemen, and eligible unemployed candidates are exempted from the examination fee.
